Select and purchase your seat onboard the train through various channels: our website, the Italo Treno app, ticket counters at the station, or by calling Pronto Italo at 060708.
When purchasing via our website or App, you have the option to choose your preferred seat during the ticket purchase process by checking the seat map. After completing the purchase, seat management is available through website, App, Italo Assistance at 892020 (calls will incur charges) or with Italo staff present at the station.*
*After purchasing your ticket, you have the option to choose or modify your seat within the same travel class. If you need to make changes to your ticket, such as the date, time, or travel class, the price you paid for selecting your seat will be included in the payment for the change, except when the change is made by ITALO staff on board.
If you don't select a new seat during the modification process, don't worry; the system will automatically assign you a seat on the new train you've chosen.
If you decide to get a refund for your ticket, you'll also receive reimbursement for the cost of selecting your seat. The exact procedure for this follows the guidelines outlined in the Transportation Contract.

Family travel with children

Children under 36 months travel free on Italo if held by an adult and not occupying a seat

If you are traveling with children under 36 months, seat selection is not available. For children over 36 months, you can reserve a seat under the same conditions as an adult.
However, if you opt for the Italo Family offer, children under the age of 14 travel for free and adults have a discount of 50%! The family or group must consist of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 travelers, including at least 1 adult.

Check-In is not required

Your Italo ticket will be issued immediately upon completing the purchase process

It is not necessary to go through the check-in process before boarding the train; instead, our onboard staff will kindly request your ticket during the journey, ensuring a hassle-free experience for you. Please note that some stations might have a checkpoint before you can access the platform. Simply show your ticket and you will be allowed entry.

Assistance to passengers with disabilities

We ensure customers with disabilities or reduced mobility have an enjoyable experience

All our trains have reserved spaces for wheelchair users located near accessible toilets. Additionally, each toilet is equipped with signage for visually impaired passengers, and seat numbers are also written in Braille.

Italo offers passengers with reduced mobility a direct and efficient channel to purchase tickets, obtain information, and reserve station assistance through Pronto Italo, our dedicated Contact Center.

Traveling with pets

Travel with your dog, cat and other pets

Small dogs, cats and other pets are welcome on our trains. You can bring them on board free of charge and keep them by your side throughout the journey.*
However, for medium or large dogs, or if you prefer not to use a carrier, select “Dog” in the “Add Passengers” section when purchasing your ticket. This service allows you to bring your dog on board without a carrier and keep them with you throughout the entire journey, all at an affordable price.** Your dog will have a dedicated space, ensuring a comfortable journey by your side.
The service is available in Smart and Prima Business classes and with all Italo fares.
The service can be purchased on this website, on the Italo Trains App, at the station at the Italo ticket offices or by calling Pronto Italo 060708.
*Animals must remain inside the carrier for the entire journey. Only one carrier per passenger is allowed.
** Your dog must be leashed and muzzled when boarding and exiting the train.
