LUGGAGE

Your luggage travels for free with Italo, with comfort and security guaranteed

Learn all about Italo's Luggage Policy

Unlike some other travel options, Italo allows passengers to carry their luggage for free. You can carry as many items as you need, including large luggage and even some types of bicycles. Enjoy the convenience of bringing your luggage along for the ride, with designated areas on the train to keep your belongings safe.

Travel with your luggage on Italo trains without worries

Italo trains are equipped with ample storage space for passengers' luggage, including designated areas at the end of each coach, overhead racks above the seats, and lockers in equipped coaches. Luggage with dimensions up to 75 x 53 x 30 is allowed in Smart Class, with no additional costs, making it convenient for travelers with multiple items. Compared to other means of transport, Italo allows to accommodate even large luggage in Prima Business and Club Executive classes, which is advantageous for those with bulky suitcases.

Where to place your luggage on the train

Small luggage

Bags should be placed safely in overhead racks designed to maximize space and safety, under your seats, or carried with you in the case of smaller items.

Medium-sized luggage

It should be placed exclusively in the overhead racks. Please note that these compartments have a maximum height of 53 cm and a depth of 42 cm.

Large luggage

To be stored in specific racks in passenger compartments or vestibules, ensuring comfort and space for all passengers.

Bring strollers, folding bicycles and scooters with you

Comfortably carry wheeled equipment onboard

Traveling on Italo trains with strollers, folding bicycles, and scooters (both electric and manual) is permitted, as long as they are fully folded and stored in the designated areas. For safer handling and to better protect your bicycle, we recommend using a dedicated carrying bag. Please note that scooters must be stored exclusively in the vestibules. Transporting oversized luggage, bulky items, or traditional bicycles is not allowed.

For detailed information about intermodal transport, please refer to the full guidelines available here. For the safety of all passengers, please be reminded that carrying hazardous items inside the trains is strictly prohibited.
